Award-winning restorer James Perkins has made Aynhoe Park a place for the extraordinary and the unusual. On completing the grandiose parkland design, envisioned by his predecessor Capability Brown, James has given new life to the stately country home, of Oxfordshire.
The house weddings and lavish communions have had their fair share of the festivity at Aynhoe, and for the first time in 2016 we saw the outlandish estate parties come to Wilderness Festival.
Having the pleasure of playing at the first ever Aynhoe Backstage, Ben Simmons, wanted to continue to help James steer the music endeavours of the Backstage parties. This year saw that partnership get into gear, when James made the call, Ben began effortlessly to bring together his resources, and thus The Mr Ben Agency began planning for the best party ever.
The tents were set and the sky ripened with golden delight as Aynhoe Backstage kicked off with an all star studded class for the main stage, with the likes of DJ’s Hugo Heathcote and international superstar Marymoon, who arrived in style thanks to the generosity from Aynhoe partner Rolls Royce.
FOOD BY BOB
James approached Bob Parkinson to bring his speciality dishes for a second time around, and just like last year it was a taste to die for.
Bob’s uniquely designed plates were host to lobster claws and Asain flavoured veg, some good old fashioned chippies and even a crocodiles tail popped up at some point!
All in all, it was a successful 3 nights at Wilderness 2017, a big thank you to James and Sophie for everything, I want to say thank you to everyone who was involved, well done for playing your part and making Aynhoe Backstage the great show that it was, enjoyed every minute. – Ben
